SIRUS MALAKOOTY
Sirus Malakooty was bom in Iran in 1956. He belongs
to the long list of artists who have been forced into exile because
of political circumstances. Sirus immigrated to Germany in 1979
and after redominantly automatic training and numerous concerts.
He completed his studies at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin
in 1984. The master Arist-Marangles Sanchez Benimell, who has
given many concerts all over Europe, was his Tutor.
Prof. Dr. Hartmurt Fladt Lecturer at The niversity
of Berlin. Well known to all for his fine attributes to the music
world. Composer winner of many European musical Awards makes his
statement about Malakooty's compositions that are a reflection
of his personal situation; on the one hand they are situated between
the musical language of his native country and middle European
serious classical music, in the resulting synthesis which Sirus
achieves, the European element predominates. On the other hand
one can always sense in the images, scenes, and emotions how much
the Artist is affected by the sufferings of the people in his
native country.
Malakooty's commitment embraces his entire musical
activity both in the sensuality of his music and in its virtuosity.
Wolf Biermann the German poet and singer make his comment about
Sirus, "he performs the Satanic Verses on the Guitar!"
Malakooty's many newly developed guitar techniques
(above all with regard to tremolo) have opened up new domains
of musical expression particularly suited to his commitments.
Malakooty's contribution to the tremelo technique hast a new colourful
space for artistic expression on the Guitar. Many of his compositions
are written for a 10 string guitar which he employs like an orchestra.
Sirus Malakooty uses elements from the classical Persian Music
such as Rhythmic models, Darvish and Folk music altogether with
Model (the stock of tones and scales).
The collection of tracks in this CD is the early
works of Sirus that was made between 1979-1985. Later in 1987
Stasch Production Company produced an LP in which 'daily diary'
track, made early 1981, was not included. Sirus Malakooty's stage
performance activities have been dedicated to the European educational
and charitable organisations that contribute to the humanitarian
causes. This CD is also contributed to the charitable organisations
